BALLET classes
Ballet beginnings/ Creative Movement
This one day per week class is designed for dancers ages 3 and 4 in a small group setting. Ballet based creative movement, interacting with others, learning to hear and count music with friends old and new is lots of fun.
Tuesdays, 3:30pm-4:15pm
Status: Registration Open
Dress Code: plain pink or black leotard (no skirts), pink tights, and pink ballet shoes required
Ballet 1
This 1 day per week class is designed for dancers ages 5 (or almost) and 6. We will learn basic ballet and movement concepts in an environment that is lots of fun yet age appropriately structured.

ballet 2
This one day per week class is designed for dancers ages 7 through 9 and their increasing attention spans and advancing physical abilities.

Ballet 2.5
Ballet 2.5 is designed for dancers ages 8 through 11 that are ready and able to commit to classes 2 days each week .
Mondays, 3:30pm-4:30pm &
Wednesdays, 3:30pm-4:30pm

Ballet 3
This 2 day per week class is designed for dancers ages 9 1/2 and above. Pre pointe work will be included in the syllabus.

Ballet 3.5
This 2 day per week class is designed for dancers previously enrolled in Ballet 3 or equivalent. There will be beginning pointe work at the barre and progress to center floor throughout the year.

Ballet 4
Ballet 4 is a 2 day per week class designed for dancers ages 12 and above that have previous pointe experience. Placement in this class is by director recommendation.

Ballet 4.5
Ballet 4.5 is designed to master the technical proficiency required to progress to Ballet 5 for dancers ages 13 and above. Placement in this class is by director recommendation.

Ballet 5
This is a 2 day per week advanced technique class. Placement in this class is by director recommendation.

BYC Company-
Ballet Performance Technique Class
Placement in BYC Company classes are by Director appointment for students 10 and above with pointe experience. Dancers and families must be willing to commit to the class and extra rehearsal time involved. All students in these classes must be enrolled in and attend 2 day/week ballet classes in addition to this class. Attendance is expected in both company as well as weekly ballet classes. Dancers are required to perform in all performances for The Nutcracker & spring production.
Mrs. Cooper will notify students of their placement in one of three classes:
BYC Apprentice Company- Ballet Performance Technique 1 (pointe class)-
Wednesdays, 5:30pm-6:30pm
BYC Junior Company- Ballet Performance Technique 2 (intermediate pointe class)-
Wednesdays, 6:30pm-7:30pm
BYC Senior Company- Ballet Performance Technique 3 (advanced pointe class)-
Wednesdays, 7:30pm-8:30pm
Pre Pointe Class
This beginning pointe class is by Director invitation for dancers ready to begin the basics of pointe work.
Thursdays, 3:45pm-4:30pm
Young Men’s Ballet Class
Get ready to explore movement, jumping and technique. This class is designed for boys ages 9 1/2 and up.

Dress Code: plain white t-shirt, black, long athletic pants and black ballet shoes required
Novice Ballet Class (for dancers 9-13 years old)
This one day per week class is designed for students that have little or no ballet experience or dancers with schedules that can’t accommodate multiple classes each week. It’s never too late to try ballet! You won’t regret it!

Adult Ballet
It’s never too late to begin or return to ballet! This class will focus on beginning fundamentals and technique for adults. Join us for some fun as well as a great workout.

MODERN classes
Modern 1*
Dancers ages 9 and above enrolled in 2 day ballet classes will find this class challenging as well as enjoyable.

Attire is the same as Ballet classes. No shoes needed. Pink ballet shoes may be worn.
*Dancers must be enrolled in Ballet class to enroll in Modern classes
Modern 2*
Dancers enrolled in 2 day ballet classes will find this class challenging as well as enjoyable. These classes compliment the Ballet 4 & 4.5 classes.

Attire is the same as Ballet classes. No shoes needed. Pink ballet shoes may be worn.

Modern 3- Advanced*
Be prepared to work hard and learn different movement styles. This class is designed for dancers that are enrolled in the Ballet 5 Class.
Wednesdays, 6:30pm-7:30pm

Attire is the same as Ballet classes. No shoes needed. Pink ballet shoes may be worn.
*Dancers must be enrolled in Ballet class to enroll in Modern classes
TAP CLASSES
Tap 1*
Tap 1 is designed to coordinate with Monday Ballet 1 & 2 students. Tap is not just fun it teaches rhythm and other skills as well.

Tap 2*
Tap 2 is designed to coordinate with Ballet 2.5 & Monday/Wednesday Ballet 3 students.
